Ziggy is a private app for two partners to share one virtual pet. This policy explains what we collect, how it's used, and your choices. We keep it simple because we collect as little as possible.
If you turn your microphone on in the park, your voice goes directly from your phone to your partner's. It does not pass through our servers, and it is never recorded or stored. To set up that connection, the two phones exchange network details, including IP addresses, through Firebase and Google's connection (STUN) servers.
Ziggy uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count how the app is used: sessions, screens, and events such as a bouquet being sent or the subscription screen being shown. This comes with an app identifier and basic device details, such as your device type, system version and general region. It never includes your name, relationship code, messages, photos or doodles. These statistics are not connected to your relationship, so Delete My Data does not remove them; Google deletes them automatically after a set time.
Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication). Access is restricted to the two partners in a relationship. Each Instant is also kept as a keepsake for the two of you, until you delete your data.
The app signs you in anonymously (no email or password) to keep your relationship's data private to you and your partner. You can also choose to sign in with Apple, so you can get back to your data on a new phone.
You can permanently delete your shared data at any time inside the app:
Settings → Delete My Data. This removes everything stored for your
relationship from our servers, for both of you: your pet, photos, messages,
scrapbooks, love notes, and activity.
Ziggy is intended for users aged 13 and older.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and post the revised version on this page.
